Seed crackers will you give that perfect crunch, while providing you with lots of fibre, vitamins and omega-3s. In Chinese medicine, seeds are closely linked to the element of Water and the Kidneys, with a positive impact on our energy levels and brain function.

This is a recipe from Sarah Wilson’s ” I QUIT SUGAR” program.

Ingredients:

While you can exchange the seeds or their proportions according to your liking, bear in mind that the linseeds and chia seeds are the ones that help the mixture stick together.

  •     ½ cup linseeds
  •    ½ cup chia seed
  •    ½ cup sesame seeds
  •  ½ cup pepita seeds
  •  ½ cup sunflower seeds
  •   Chopped herbs of your choice (thyme, basil, rosemary)
  •   Sea Salt
  •   1 cup Water

Preheat oven to 120 C.  Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and let the mixture sit for a few minutes. Line a tray with baking paper double the size of the tray, so you can use it to flip it over. Spread the mixture onto the baking tray. Just fold the remainder of the baking paper on top and use a bottle of wine to roll it out evenly, the thinner the better. Pre-cut into the desired size and then bake for about 20-30 min, just use the paper to flip them over and bake the other side. Let them cool down a bit and you should be able to break the squares apart.
