White Coffee: A refreshing, Caffeine-Free drink from Lebanon!

I first saw this recipe online and decided to try it for myself! It’s a simple and soothing coffee alternative, perfect for an after-dinner refreshment. This Lebanese “White Coffee” doesn’t contain any coffee beans at all, in fact, it’s made from fresh Mint and sweet-scented Blossom Water.

Created in Beirut, this drink couldn’t be easier to make yourself at home – all you will need is some Mint Leaves and Orange Blossom Water. I also added a dash of Rose Water as well as some Honey.

First, bring a kettle of water to a boil. Place 1/2 a cup of fresh Mint Leaves into a teapot (preferably glass). Cover the Mint Leaves in a teapot with hot water and allow to steep for about 3 minutes. Stir in 2 teaspoons of Orange Blossom Water and 1 teaspoon of Rose Water. Add 1 teaspoon of Honey, but if that isn’t enough, additional Honey may be passed, to individually sweeten drinks to taste.

This tea tastes similar to a camomile blend and works perfectly with breakfast or as a digestive. This tisane also works well alongside an afternoon snack like dried fruits and nuts. On a hot day, pour this one over some ice for a nice refreshing drink!
