About Us

B.H.Sc (Acup)

Heidi Weiss is the founder and director of AcuHealth Acupuncture Clinic, which first opened its doors in September of 2004 in The Grange on Brisbane’s northside. Since then, Heidi’s commitment and passion for developing a personal connection with her clients has led to the exponential growth of the clinic. In 2010, AcuHealth moved to its current location in the heart of Wilston.

Heidi holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture) and is a registered Acupuncturist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).

Starting her studies directly after completing year 12, Heidi originally entered into acupuncture due to her passion for health and fitness with the assumption she would be treating musculo-skeletal disorders.  During her study, she discovered a whole new realm of thinking, diagnosing, and treating. This ignited her interest in women’s health; encompassing hormonal imbalances, pregnancy care, post-natal care, menopause and fertility, both natural and assisted (IVF, IUI).

Having been a practitioner for over 10 years and working with many other modalities including chiropractic, naturopathy, kinesiology and massage, Heidi strongly believes and understands the holistic approach works best.  With her broad knowledge of the human body and personal passion for health, she enjoys educating and informing patients. Heidi has a strong belief that education is one of the most important tools to live a healthy lifestyle and that there are many facets to aid in the pathway to a healthy life, body, mind and spirit.

Since completing her Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) degree in Acupuncture, Anthea has had additional experience in the field of female health and fertility with practical training in IVF and IUI support.  She endeavours to work closely with gynaecologists and obstetricians to receive the best results for the client and understands how acupuncture can also be used for pregnancy and post-pregnancy care.

Apart from working with fertility clients she also works with a range of other conditions related to muscle tension, postural pain, as well as mental and emotional well-being.

Anthea believes that helping a client to develop an understanding of Chinese medicine whilst working with other medical practitioners allows a client to manage their own healthcare as well as provide a holistic treatment strategy.

She is continually furthering her own knowledge and skills through regular acupuncture professional forums and private study.

Anthea is a registered acupuncturist with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (CMBA) and the national Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is also a member of the ATMS (Australian Traditional Medicine Society) professional association.
